Ingredients:
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add Wet Ingredients: Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).
4. Pour and Bake: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
5. Cool: Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely on wire racks.
6. Frost: Frost with your favorite chocolate icing and enjoy!
